Positions at Resilience Rising

For the emotional safety of our youth, we only hire employees who self-identify as female. Residential Supervisor
Evening/Weekend

Description: The evening/weekend residential supervisor is responsible for the supervision of eight teenage girls and two small children during evening and weekend hours. In accordance with standards set forth by the Colorado Department of Human Services for the staff to youth ratio, the evening/weekend residential supervisor will work in collaboration with additional residential staff. Residential supervisors oversee youth onsite during less structured times of day to include such activities as free time, study hall, chores, meals, etc. They oversee the life skills program that includes: hygiene, cooking, house-keeping, financial management, parenting, community living, and green living. Weekend residential supervisors take youth offsite for community outings and are cognizant of the safety issues of youth while in a public space. Residential supervisors monitor behavior issues utilizing a positive behavior support system. To help youth through moments of intrapersonal and interpersonal crisis, residential supervisors utilize verbal de-escalation, therapeutic processing, and principles of dialectical behavior therapy. Residential supervisors document and communicate client concerns or special needs on an ongoing basis.

Requirements: For the evening/weekend residential supervisor position, applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field or be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a related field. A minimum of one year of experience working with abused or at-risk youth is required. This staff must demonstrate a basic competence in trauma-informed programming, cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavior therapy, and she must demonstrate a desire and willingness to become more advanced in these skills. 

Hours: Both part-time and full-time evening/weekend residential supervisor positions are available. The primary hours are fulfilled 5pm to 12am on weekdays and 8am to 12am on weekends.

Residential Supervisor
Overnight

Description: In accordance with standards set forth by the Colorado Department of Human Services for the overnight staff to youth ratio, the overnight residential supervisor will primarily work independently while supervising eight teenage girls and two small children during sleeping hours. There may be additional staff onsite overnight as needed during such times as ongoing client crisis or external safety concerns. The overnight residential supervisor maintains the physical and emotional safety of all minor residents during potentially trauma-triggering hours. She responds calmly and appropriately to residents struggling with self-harming or suicidal thoughts and behaviors. She utilizes therapeutic processing and principles of dialectical behavior therapy to help youth through moments of intrapersonal and interpersonal crisis. She demonstrates confidence and competence in handling and triaging simultaneous client needs and crises. The overnight residential supervisor conducts and documents intermittent safety checks at designated times throughout the night. This staff must remain awake throughout the overnight shift but may do personal work onsite when residents are asleep. Personal dogs are permitted to accompany staff during the overnight shift.
